4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Without Media technologies, a music video cannot be made. From day 1 i was using the Internet, and sites such as YouTube, to look at many different music videos to research how they was out together and constructed, and from there i posted the videos that interested me most to the website you are on now, Blogger. Also at the start i created a mood board to get the general feel and vibe that i wanted my music video to get across to the viewer; i did this using Glogster.
When actually shooting my music video, i was using a canon handycam video camera, and also to get the lip sinking right, i played the song through i-pod speakers; the song was an mp3
on my i-pod. After filming i uploaded all my footage onto imovie on the Mac, and edited the whole video on there.

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
From what people have said about my music video, i feel that because i only had one setting for my music video, i should have taken alot more shots from more angles, to justify the fact that there was no storyline going on.
There was debate on whether i should have gone ahead and filmed a storyline aswel as a performance; a few people said that they would have prefered to see a storyline just to give the video a little something extra, BUT on the other hand most people agreed that the video got across the connotaions and ideology of the band that i was going for.
For my digipack i used 3 different images. I realise now how important it is that the images 'go' together, beacause the first 3 images i used where all really nice photos that accentuated the ideology's wanted when they were seperate photos, but unfortunately when you put them all together they just didnt fit, and it didnt do the images or digipack any justice as a whole.

2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
My band are very proud of coming from the east-end of London, its a very gritty, urban enviroment but its 'home' to them. I wanted the band to stick to there routes, so my digipack is largely aimed to look old-fashioned, gritty, rough-around-the-edges, but at the same time quite simple and plain, with one main photograph taht will become there sort of 'icon' in that when you see the image you immediately think of the band.
The poster follows these same rules in that is very simple, hard-hitting and straight to the point. Again using an image of an old record player as there iconic image.

EVALUATION
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Genrally, a standard music video is split into 2 sections; performance and on going storyline. Performance is the artist/band doing what they do best, showing off there musical skills. The performance section is usually very clean cut, maybe with a blank background, performed in a studio space.
The storyline usually follows the connotations of the song lyrics, for example, if it is a song aboiut love and relationships then the storyline section will involve a couple being in love or breaking up; depending on what the song is about.
I feel that my music video challenges these conventions as it is all performance. I did this because i wanted to promote my band as being very 'D.I.Y'; so they are trying to it by themselves and not relying solely on record labels and company's to influence. There whole ideology is to love making, writing and performing there music, so i feel the video is giving there fans what they want to see.
